º£½ÇÂÛ̳’s Health centre is open from 8:30am to 3:00 pm Monday toÌýFriday and is operated by AHPRA Registered Nurse Melanie and AHPRA registered Paramedic Megan. We offer a first aid service for illness or accidents that occurÌýduring school that may impact your child.
The main role of our Health Centre staff is to assessÌýyour child’s concern, attempt to relieve symptomsÌýand encourage the possibility of staying at school. If required Melanie or Megan will contact the parent/carer/guardian and or call for medical assistance.
In order for us to provide optimal care to each studentÌýaccording to their needs, it is crucial that you provideÌýupdated student health information to the school.ÌýPlease update any relevant information via our parent portal PAM.
Melanie and Megan also collect and collate medicalÌýinformation for camps, immunisation programs and record any newly diagnosed medical conditions asÌýinformed by parents and ensure ongoing complianceÌýwith MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese of CatholicÌýSchools) care, safety and wellbeing policies as they relate to first aid.
If the school does not have the correct plans,Ìýauthority forms and medical management plans in place, your child will not be able to attend camps orÌýextracurricular activities until these are provided toÌýthe school.
COLLECTION OF UNWELL CHILD
If your child is unwell during the school day, they are expected to go to sick bay where our school nurses will attend to them. Students are not to contact their parents/carers/guardians themselves if they are unwell. We ask for your support in this by redirecting your child to sick bay should they contact you during the school day.
The Health Centre or the Student Services team will contact parents or guardians if the student needs to leave the College. Parents are required to collect the student from Student Services and sign out using the touch screen.
